Hi there, I’m Tari, though I guess you probably already know that: after all, you probably arrived here after reading something I’ve written. I’m a Zimabwean writer who loves satire and camembert cheese. I received an M.A. in Creative Writing at the University Currently Known as Rhodes in 2015.
Where has your work appeared?
My poetry and short fiction have appeared in a wide range of literary magazines and journals from Zimbabwe and South Africa to the UK and the US, including Afreada, Best New African Poets Anthology, Kotaz, New Contrast, Oxford Poetry and Zimbolicious Poetry Anthology. Links to all my published works are available in the “Publications” section.
I also had the great privilege to be long listed for the 2017 Writivism Short Story Prize and I’m currently part of an Artistic Exchange Programme.
What are you working on now?
My main literary projects at the moment are a) a collection of poetry focusing on dislocation and b) a short story focusing on dysfunction. It is my great hope that one of these works will be published before June 2018.
Where can I contact you?
Drop me a note on my ‘Contacts’ page. Seriously, this forwards straight to my email account which I check sixty times a day 🙂 .
